After leaving school at 17 with two Highers, I embarked on a Skill Seeker programme with Fife Council, which enabled me to complete a Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration—a work-based equivalent of an HNC. Since then, I have gained diverse experience in various roles, including high school receptionist, maintenance assistant for a housing association, procurement assistant at a manufacturing company, and two years of training in adult nursing. Over the years, I have also enhanced my skills through short courses in basic Excel, Word, and Customer Services, further strengthening my professional capabilities.

Working closely with everyone on the team is always rewarding. It’s inspiring to see the company grow and win new business, knowing we all play a part in its success. Plus, the little perks like pizza days and having office dogs around make the work environment even more enjoyable and unique!
HOW DOES WORKING WITH ACA DIFFER TO OTHER PLACES THAT YOU HAVE WORKED?
Working at Allan Corfield Architects offers a much more relaxed and personal environment compared to my previous roles in manufacturing and maintenance, which were often frantic and high-pressure due to tight deadlines and unexpected emergencies. This is also the smallest team I’ve worked with, making it a more intimate and collaborative workplace where everyone’s input feels valued and appreciated.
IF YOU WEREN'T AN ARCHITECT, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
I think I would enjoy working in an Estate Agents.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
In my spare time I enjoy reading and going for long walks in the idyllic coastal area that I live close to.
