The seminars will be hosted by Allan Corfield Architects, with industry experts providing engaging talks throughout the day. We are delighted to have secured the following speakers –Self Build and Low Energy Expert
Allan is a Chartered Architect and ACA’s founder, the Self Build Architectural practice, working on one-off homes throughout the UK. His goal is to provide prospective self builders with the inspiration, support, and education they require to build their own cost effective, energy efficient, dream home. Structural Engineer
David attained an MEng in Civil Engineering Design and Management at Dundee University in 2006. During his career, he has obtained a wealth of experience working in the UK, Middle East and New Zealand working on a number of high profile projects before joining AC Structures as Technical Director.
Finance Expert
Tom has worked in the financial services industry for 30 years. He has spent the last 16 of these, specialising in self build mortgage at BuildStore, providing expert advice to hundreds of customers embarking on major homebuilding projects. Tom has completed self build projects himself, and is widely regarded as a self build finance expert.
Project Management and QS
James is a construction project cost expert and has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, within both the commercial and private sectors. James founded ClearPlan Project Management Ltd with his wife Nicky back in 2009, which merged with Charlie Laing Ltd to form CLPM Ltd in 2014.
MVHR Expert
Brian is a senior engineer with ADM Systems who were pioneers in MVHR in the early 90s. He has been with the business almost from inception and is also a BPEC and NICEIC accredited engineer who regularly helps with the design specification and commissioning of installed systems. Materialising self-builders’ dreams is what drives Brian. Even with all his experience, he is always keen to increase his knowledge and eager to impart what he’s learned on all his clients.
Renewable Heating Expert
David is an authority in sustainable building and energy efficiency, with extensive knowledge in building fabrics, heating systems, heat recovery ventilation, emerging technologies and renewables, including heat pump technologies, Solar systems, biomass and also conventional heating systems. Often works with architects and house builders and designs and project manages appropriate performance tech and heating systems to achieve the healthiest outcome for every home.
