Low Energy Home in Northumberland
Low Energy Home in Northumberland
In 2018 we were appointed to design a new house with associated carport and artist studio on a beautiful plot in Northumberland, England. The brief was to create a four-bedroom home with space for a growing family to live, work and play. The design was heavily influenced by passive house principals and the ‘14 patterns of biophilic design’. Of the 14 patterns, some we have explicitly focussed on creating;
– Visual Connection with Nature
– Dynamic & Diffused Light – Connection with Natural Systems
– Material Connection with Nature
The proposed buildings are contemporary and yet echo the agricultural nature of the surrounding architecture. The layout has purposely been designed to reduce the visual impact of the building on the site.
In July 2019 we secured Planning Approval for the home, the house will now go through the detailed design stage.
