Passive House SIPS Home in Fife
In late 2017 ACA was approached by a family, currently living in Asia who wished to return to the UK and build a new family home. They had a site near the family home in Fife and wanted to create a low energy home to Passive House standards – which ACA are ideally suited for.
Our Passive House consultant took the original outline planning approval and created a design which would be suitable for potential Passive House Certification. This design was checked in the PHPP software, with successful results.
In 2018 the predominantly single-storey home received detailed planning and building warrant approval. The client chose SIPS construction because of its quick construction time and ease of making the building airtight.
The family home, which centres around an open-plan living, kitchen space is due to go on-site in March 2019, with the main contractor lined up to complete the home within five months.
