Low Energy Replacement Dwelling in Mynyddygareg, Wales
The original bungalow and attached garage was the family home of one of our clients when they were growing up and was inherited by them in recent years.
As such, they had strong ties to the community and have personal relationships with many of the neighbours.
It was their desire, therefore, to create a design showing respect of the context and community. Our client’s intention was to replace the existing bungalow with a 2/3-bedroom home in a footprint similar to the existing bungalow.
It is being built to a high thermal efficiency standard with considerations for solar orientation, maximising the views over the valley and future proofing for long term living.
The client is utilising the Izodom ICF system from Econekt, ASHP, MVHR from Total Home Environment and, with the potential use of solar PV panels, is providing a sustainable, low energy and low carbon development.
